A new love, some sore muscles, and a ticked off redhead

Hi friends! First off, thanks for all the comments on Autumn Twig's post yesterday - I absolutely loved that red balloon story!

I thought I'd do a quick weekend recap for you, even though it's Tuesday. (Is it bad that I already want it to be Friday?) My weekend was absolutely delightful! Saturday morning I took my first ever yoga class. A friend of mine is becoming a certified yoga instructor and as part of that she has to offer a certain amount of classes to beginners. I've never done yoga (and it was free), so I figured, why not? I was excited going into the class because it was something new, but I wasn't sure how I would like it. I mean really, I'm a type A personality and I wasn't sure how I would like it, but thought it was worth a shot.

Holy. Crap. I absolutely, 110% fell head over in heels in love. I could feel my muscles working but not in a painful way, I liked bringing the focus back to my breathing, and I felt so happy, at peace, and energized when the class was over. There were even times during poses where I was thinking I love this, I love this, I love this! Ben might have some competition.

Saturday evening I went to my first wine tasting with some friends. I'm not really a big wine drinker but the atmosphere was fun, the lounge area (where we sat after our tasting) was comfy, and we kept trying to peek into a room where a wedding reception was being held. Lots of laugh, and lots of fun!

Sunday brought more exercise. I hiked the Big Schloss trail with a friend, my mom, and one of my mom's hiking buddies. (My mom is big into hiking and backpacking so she knows lots of trails in the area). The hike starts with a really big hill and I'm not going to lie - it was hard. Like my body was ready to give out at the top of it. But we took a break, drank some water, and the trail leveled out after that so it wasn't so bad. The trail is four miles total, and oh my gosh, the view is so worth it! It borders Virginia and West Virginia and it was really cool to look off one side of the rock to see Virginia and then just turn my head and see West Virginia on the other side. I took picture after picture of the amazing trees - red, yellow, orange - it was an explosion of color and it was like being cocooned in the season of fall.

So where are these pictures you ask? Why hasn't your faithful blogger shared them? Good question. Why don't you ask the stupid memory card in my camera that decided to be corrupted, resulting in me losing ALL of the pictures from the winery and the hike! My camera had give me a "read error" messages a couple times Saturday, but I figured I hit a weird button and didn't think anything of it. I went to upload my pictures Sunday evening and it was taking a really long time, and didn't upload anything. Ben looked at it yesterday and determined it was the memory card, not the camera, and that all the pictures were lost. I'm not sure I can explain how livid I am at this tiny little chip. I hiked specifically for that view and yes I can remember it in my head, but I wanted to share it with all of you!

I pulled up a picture online to try to give you an idea of how awesome it was.

(When we were up there we were sitting more to the far left side - and there wasn't any green - it was all fall colors!)

Do you see why I'm so bitter? The view was incredible! *Sigh* I can't even talk about it anymore, I'm just going to get myself all worked up. So besides technology being sucky, and some sore muscles, all in all a good weekend.

But enough about me - what about you dear readers? How was your weekend? What did you do? Anyone else have a love/hate relationship with technology like I do? Any other yoga fanatics? Hope you're having a fabulous Tuesday!

I totally have a love/hate relationship with technology. Esp when things like that happen. That would just totally suck to lose all those pics!!

My Friday night was great. The rest of the weekend? Meh. Not so great. Oh well. Moving on. Blog post to come on it tomorrow.

The pictures are gone?!?!?! Man, I'm so bummed. I guess we will have to hike up there again and get more shots. :)

I know how you feel. Those pictures are wonderful. We just went camping up in the Shenandoah valley and I miss it so much!!

I would be pretty frustrated with the memory card as well...but you're still being pretty cheerful despite losing the pictures!
It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend, and I should really try out yoga!

Oh no! That totally sucks that you lost all your pictures! I sometimes get a read error on my camera, but then I just retake the picture and is seems fine. Maybe I have a bad memory card too, and I'll lose everything someday!

I hear more about people picking up yoga. I've wanted to try it myself, but I'm too scared to show up at a class with my total lack of coordination. I'm glad you liked it!

Ugh, that SUCKS about your memory card. A few weeks ago my laptop randomly decided it would STOP detecting my camera when I plug it in, so now I have to boot up my old, incredibly SLOW laptop and put the pictures on it, upload them onto a USB and then put them on my new laptop. So incredibly frustrating and I want to throw my laptop and/or camera against the wall every time. So I know the feeling of hating technology!

I'm so glad you loved yoga! That is SOOO cool your friend is offering free beginners classes. I really enjoy yoga too, well, actually we have a love/hate relationship. I'm often so stiff from running and other workouts that yoga HURTS but in a good way! Haha.

And that sounds (and looks) like a gorgeous hike. I love hiking, mostly for the view!!
