A Plea

Oh readers. Dear sweet readers. I need your help.

You see, my comments section is kinda weird. As in, there's no line beneath each post indicating the number of comments, and you can't see them until you click on the title of a post. Since the inception of this little blog I had issues with the comments section. I don't know why, but my friend Emily was able to remedy it so people could comment. (Thanks again Em!) However, there was never that line beneath each post indicating the number of comments.

I've checked and re-checked all the settings in my posting/comments section, and determined that's not the problem. I've even had other people check the settings - the lovely Becky (great name, huh?) thinks the html for that line is somehow being blocked.

Does anyone know anything about this or code in general? Would you please take pity and help me? Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top?

Sorry. :) I have no idea...but I'll ask the husband (IT Nerd man), and see if he knows.

I had a similar problem with my blog where I couldn't edit my posts from the actual posts when I was logged in b/c my html code was messed up. I did a google search, found the correct code, went into my code on the template and corrected the error, and ta-da working edit button. I'm sure that your problem is something similar and probably really easy to fix. I will do a search later (I'm running late for work. Eek.) and see if I can find a website with the code for you.

OK, I lied.. I looked now. It looks like this site would help:

Do you know enough about coding to go in and change stuff?

@ Eyegirl - thanks for that website. I'm going to scour it more tonight but that initial problem (about having things embedded below the post) is I think just to have the comments below, not the line itself.

I know nothing about code so all suggestions are welcome!

I have no idea how to remedy that particular problem but...you could always try to switch out to something like Disqus.
It's what I use on my blog now, and I like it much better than what blogger originally had in place.
I know that some people don't like Disqus though, so you may want to just check around first for other alternatives if you're considering this.

Did you try googling it or contacting blogspot?? They would probably be able to help you!

Good luck!

I know this may be totally obvious, but I checked to see what I have my settings on for commenting, since I have a comments link under each post on the main page.

If you go to "settings", "comments", mine is set to: "show", "anyone", "full page", "new posts have comments", "hide"....and I think for the rest it wont really matter what you put.

Good luck!

No advice for you, because I am a techno-moron, but that would drive me nuts! Good luck!
