30 before 30

I love making lists. The only thing I enjoy more than making lists is crossing things off of them. I've seen a few people do these - life lists, 30 before 30, either way these lovely ladies have inspired me to create my own. (Some of these are fun, some are more serious, but I tried to refrain from putting a lot of big goals in here, because I don't want timelines to restrict any big descisions for the mister and me in here).

1. Cook an entire Thanksgiving meal
2. Take an international trip (not for work)
3. Maybe have a kiddo
4. Read 10 classic books that are known to be hard to get through (i.e. Crime and Punishment, Anna Karenina, War and Peace, etc.)
5. Travel to two states I haven't been to yet. (Then I will have been to 25 out of the 50).
6. To live in a place that's bigger than 1,000 square feet. (Might seem silly but at this point it seems like it'll never happen)
7. To continue learning yoga and love it even more than I already do!
8. Surprise my husband with a weekend getaway. I haven't done this since our first anniversary (more on that later). He hates to be surprised so if I can pull it off again that would be awesome!
9. Start and complete graduate school (assuming I get accepted)
10. Get over all my constant stress about money
11. Learn to like tea
12. See a broadway show in NYC (I've only seen one - The Producers, right after I graduated from high school)
13. Go to a show or play in D.C. (something else I haven't done since I was little)
14. Become more patient in the car (or as my sister puts it, "control your road rage!")
15. Discover a passion and do whatever it is to follow it
16. Master a language (I took French in middle and high school and I can only remember about five words of it) - and then go somewhere where I can actually use it. (i.e. if I learn Italian, then we have to go to Italy)
17. Assemble furniture without throwing down the pieces and giving up in the middle of it.
18. Buy a nice dining room table and set of chairs and actually use it
19. Get a fancy camera (like maybe this one?) so I can continue to document all the wonderful moments in life
20. Take a spontaneous road trip with the mister. (I'm not specifying where, because that would defeat the purpose of spontaneous!)
21. Have a Christmas tree (Again, something that's not possible right now because our apartment is so small).
22. Visit Ground Zero. I had lunch at the top of one of the Twin Towers, and three months later 9/11 happened. (I haven't been back since).
23. Pay off my student loans (hopefully this will be accomplished before I turn 30, but we'll see!)
24. Get a pet that won't cause the mister to have allergy or asthma attacks. (Seriously, he's allergic to everything).
25. Buy a new car
26. Let the mister buy me a piece of amazing jewelry and not worry about the price (this sounds weird, but I always try to find the best deal and sometimes I need to sit back and just enjoy)
27. Play a video game (that does not involve Mario or racing - the only two things I'm good at!) with the mister for at least two hours. (I'm not limiting myself to the amount of times I can die, because let's be real people, that's going to be a lot).
28. Buy a new computer (The mister came up with this one, right after saying "yeah, put that down, because your laptop's definitely going to die before then. Ha!)
29. Donate my hair to Locks of Love (Again, I know I will be doing this soon, but at the rate my hair is growing it feels like I'll never be able to!)
30. Keep blogging!

What do you think dear readers? Have you ever made a list of things to do before a certain age, or a life list in general? What would be a few things on your list? Happy Monday friends!

What a great list!! You are wise to do this well before you turn 30!! Gives you more time to get it all done!

That is awesome that you will have your student loans paid off or almost paid off by 30!! I wish that was the case for me!! maybe by the time I am 40!!

I love your list Becky! I thought it was funny how you put "maybe" have a kid haha. Your idea about surprising your husband with a weekend getaway is such a great idea. I wish I could pull that off, but I don't think I could!

Awesome list!! I think I might do a 25 before I'm 25 list soon!

Did you know that Locks of Love is more likely to sell your hair to a dye company than to make a wig from it? And also that the few wigs they do make are NOT free to those who need them?

I will do some of these with you! Especially since some match up with me!

-I feel the same way about Ground Zero and I haven't been back since we went after graduation either. Plus we could go see a show on the same visit!

-Same goes for a D.C. play! Haven't been to one in years and I know J would want to go too :)

-I promise to NOT put together the next thing you buy from IKEA ;)

I love how your list is aspirational...yet doable. If I made one it would either be things like "eat a banana split" or "reach mars".

Love your goals. I might need to make a list of my own. Particularly I love that picture quote, so inspiring.

Best,

Hannah Katy
