What I learned this weekend

Lacey always does great posts about what she learned over the weekend, so I thought I would follow suit. (Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, right?)

1. That my sanity and (probably blood pressure as well), is directly related to the state of this blog. When it was jacked up last week it was the last straw that was close to pushing me over the edge. Once it was back to being able to have comments (even if there is not a line beneath each post!) I felt like things were going to be okay.

2. My love of reading was re-affirmed tenfold. It's always been my escape, and something I could always turn to, but the combination of stress this week made reading this weekend almost like a healing experience. *Sigh* Oh books. I think that's the only thing that actually could be a competition for the mister.

3. Speaking of the mister, I realized my husband is even more adorable than I thought. Lately, when he plays a video game and his character gets shot he actually says "ow," and flinches. Love it.

4. That moving around furniture can be stressful but it changes the look of your apartment and makes you feel like you're in a completely new home.

5. That you can have happy in the moment jewelry. For me right now this is a necklace with a leaf pendant. I bought these for my bridesmaids as part of their "thanks for putting up with my craziness and being in our wedding" gifts, but I also bought one for myself. Wearing it makes me smile, even if it's nowhere close to fall. Also, the shape looks a teeny bit like a Canadian maple leaf which makes me think of a certain other redhead.

Happy beginning of a new week readers! How was your weekend? What did you learn?

*Psst! Hey! See that facebook badge over on the left? <-------- If you click it you can become a fan of this blog on facebook! You know you want to! And it would make me smile. Just sayin'....

Books are wonderful, aren't they? I am glad that reading was therapeutic for you this weekend (and always!).

This weekend I was reminded how much I love quite, uneventful weekends. :)

Good thing you can always count on books when you need a pick-me-up!

I love the idea of an in-the-moment necklace... I need one!

There's a lot of thing we can learn if we become truly observant and aware. :-)

I'm still laughing out loud about the Mister saying "ow" when playing video games because ERIC DOES IT TOO!

Omg. Boys are too funny!

I learned that when you are sick, you ARE supposed to take all of your antibiotics and stay home, and you AREN'T supposed to run a marathon. Now I'm back running high fever and ill!

I agree- moving furniture sucks when you're doing it, but it's so nice to be in what seems like a new room. Well in your case it's the entire place. ;)

I learned that I adore the sunshine and the warmth and there is no greater feeling than the one that comes after a long hike.
