How I ate my weight in strawberries and met one of the coolest women ever

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty full and a lot of fun! I hosted book club Saturday morning and stayed up until 3 AM (and then got up at 6!) to finish the book. I'm still tired, which makes my old college self (who did that several times a semester), a little disappointed. I am definitely not 19 anymore.

A little shout out to Katie, for giving me some good tips on how to make these bad boys.
These were what was left after book club. And yes, they are now all gone.

Yesterday I had my first blogger meet-up and I told the mister as I was driving there that I was so nervous and excited, it was like I was going on a first date. To which he responded, "well call me after and let me know if you got lucky." Charming, I know.

I had SO much fun! Jess is even more awesome in real life than on her blog and we literally sat and talked for two hours with no lulls or akward-ness in the conversation. We realized we had even more in common than we thought, AND she let me hold her six-week old daughter for an hour. I was in heaven. Good conversation, great laughs, and quite possibly the softest baby I had ever encountered. I can't wait to do it again!

What do you think of the new look? Many thanks to Aliya who has been tweaking this for the past couple of days. She is awesome and patient, and I think we're almost done! Um, do you SEE the comments line working?! I'm not changing anything ever again so it stays that way.

How was your weekend readers?

LOVE the new look - and the comments line! Looks wonderful! I'm curious what book you stayed up until 3 am reading. I haven't done that in years!

Oo, love the new look! And hooray for figuring out the comments line! :)

Sounds like a fabulous weekend. What book did you read for book club? I love choc covered strawberries. Mmm.

I am jealous that you got to do a blogger meet up! I wish DC was in my travel budget - would love to come and meet you!

I wondered if you had a ghost writer!! I saw Aliya's name under contributors last week and I was curious...but I should've guessed. YAY you've got the comments section you've been dreaming about!

Love the new look.

And LOVED hanging with you...I totally agree. Not one weird moment. And you so made me laugh which I needed. Coolest women ever? Not so much but THANK YOU for the ego boost. :) You're pretty awesome yourself.

Plus, you held my kid. Which means I didn't have to hold my kid. Rockstar.

Thanks for the compliments ladies! And Brittany, the book was Three Cups of Tea - I'll be hopefully posting a review of it sometime this week!

Lisa - I would love for you to come to D.C. too! Too bad the airlines are pretty much making domestic traveling into so much of a pain it's not worth it!

A comment line and a great new header? Way to go. I see in your comment that you read Three Cups of Tea. I just read that for my book club and posted a review on Goodreads.com.

I just stopped by your blog from Hannah Katy's - any friend of hers is sure worth checking out :)

Your blog looks lovely! And I'm jealous you got to go to a blogger meetup - nobody lives close to Winnipeg (with good reason, lol) but it's a dream of mine to meet a couple of my favourites one day. Love those chocolate covered strawberries, too!

Your site looks great! I am glad you and Jess had fun -- you both deserve it! I love reading both of your sites! I also can't wait to hear your review of that book. It must have been pretty good if you stayed up.
