Chi-town, sunburns, and a whole lot of love

So far, nothing more from my camera. My plan was to have a whole recap of Chicago and things we did with pictures, but for now that's on hold until I can figure out this thing out. I'm trying not to dwell on how angry this is making me, or how I might not be able to recover those pictures. All the memories created from downtown Chicago or more importantly the ones I snapped at the wedding.

I got a lot of great moments on camera - like when the bride received flowers from her groom (a surprise!) and cried reading the note he included, talking about how he wanted her to take a minute to not worry about the details and how happy he was they were spending the rest of their lives together. (Let's just say she wasn't the only ones with glassy eyes!)

So instead, I'm going to tell you all fun stories and show some pictures taken by the professional photographers.
The wedding was awesome. The weather cooperated beautifully (I think the high that day was 85), and while the shoes I wore were absolute torture (not a smart decision on my part), the bride and groom simply beamed at each other all day.
They shared their first dance to the same song the mister and I did (Feels Like Home), and the bride and her father danced to the song my dad and I did (I Loved Her First), so I was pretty much bawling at the head table.
(The mister was the last one on the stairs on the right during the send off)

I got a slight sunburn on my face Thursday while walking around Chicago but it cleared up by the wedding (thank you aloe vera), and we had an absolute blast at the reception. All the best to the new Mr. and Mrs!

How was your weekend readers? IF I can get some pictures from my camera (please keep your fingers crossed) I'll post a recap about our excursion downtown. Hope your week gets off to a great start!

I love it when the groom surprises the bride with flowers and/or a thoughtful card. So sweet. What a special couple - so glad you got to be part of their special day.

And I really, really hope you are able to get your photos off the memory card. :(

Oh no I'm so sad your camera still isn't working! You should maybe try to take it into a camera store?

Those photos are beautiful!!

Weddings are just so fun! What could be better than celebrating love, and a couple's future? I love the bride's flowers. Really classy and bold. Good luck resuscitating your camera!

Sorry to hear about the camera BUT I am glad you had a lovely time.

Weddings always, always, always make me cry. Even if I hardly know the bride & groom!

Aside from the camera drama (laaaame!) it sounds like a great wedding- congratulations to the new married couple :)

My weekend was deliciously lazy, I had my tattoo finished and then just... didn't do much for the rest of the weekend. I always have a zillion things on the go, and the quiet was amazing :)

Sounds like a perfect way to spend a long weekend! I am so happy that you were able to be there with your friends to celebrate such a fun occasion.

I took a long weekend and it was wonderful -- quality time with my teenage cousins, meeting up with a blogger/twitter friend for ice cream, sitting outside in the sun tanning and reading, a trip to Amish Country with my mom....

Not sure if you've already thought of this and/or already have one but you can buy a memory card reader at Best Buy or Microcenter or the like. It's a little gadget the connects to your computer's USB port. You remove the memory card from the camera, put it in the memory card reader and it will transfer the contents of the card to your desktop.

Good luck!

Our mutual friend looks amazing! Their photographers did a great job! Sorry about the camera. Maybe you can take to a Ritz camera or something??
