Let's hear it

I love blogging. Hard to believe right? I think about it all the time. I scribble ideas on post-its, I have an on-going list of random thoughts in my blackberry, and I'm constantly saying, "ooh, I should blog about that." I'm afraid of running out of ideas, but so far I've been okay. And when I can't come up with something? I realize it's all right not to post because I'd rather skip a day then put something up I'm not proud of.

If you've been reading for awhile you know that I had all kinds of issues with comments. There was no comment line beneath my posts for awhile, and then when there was one it only lasted for a few days until Aliya re-designed my blog and worked some magic and fixed the problem.

However, I've been thinking about changing up the comment section a little bit. I'm thinking about installing intense debate to use for the comments. Mandy uses this, Darcie has a version (disqus), and I'm interested to see what you all think. It shouldn't take anymore time than it normally does to leave a comment and you won't necessarily have to have a gmail or blogger account in order to leave one. Plus, then I could respond to some of your comments which is an option I don't have right now (without having to "approve" comments and I don't want to deal with that).

One of the things I love most about blogging is reading all your comments each day, but I want it to be convenient for you. So, what do you think? Do you prefer the blogger way, would you prefer something where you just put in an email address (which won't be displayed) and a comment, or do you not care either way and think I should leave well enough alone? Leave a comment (ah, the irony!) and let me know - I really want your feedback!

Happy almost Friday readers!

I'm not a fan of Blogger comments at all. I say go for Intense Debate! :)

I get confused by new things easily :) But if you wanted to try something new, go for it!

On another note, how do I change the position of my picture so my boobs aren't the only thing you see in my little pic??

I say go for intense debate! I think blogger comments is kind of a crappy set up! The word verification drives me bonkers to be quite honest!!! I like intense debate and have never had any trouble with it. It usually remembers me on the blog when i consistently comment, so it's not more work that blogger commemnts...

I prefer the set-up where you can respond to other people. I hate when you want to have a discussion and it makes it almost impossible. I know it would make book talking easier! (I am thinking of switching too!)

I dislike the word verification on blogger comments, and the fact that sometimes you have to submit 2 or 3 times before it even works is very annoying too! Go for intense debate :)

I have been very happy with intense debate. I love being back to email people back directly. At one time I thought of switching over to Wordpress but I don't have the patience to learn all about the ins and outs of the site. Intense Debate made having blogger more user friendly. I say go for it!

ID is great, and I think it's gotten a better reputation lately than Disqus. You'll get the hang of it right away!

intense debate is prob my favorite "alternate" comment platform! I wonder if I can install it in wordpress... hmmmm... =)

Please DON'T use disqus. I HATE that commenting system!!

I haven't minded commenting on intense debate on Mandy's blog - it hasn't given me too many problems. I find that 3rd party commenting systems can sometimes be really wonky though.

Personally, I love wordpress the best! The commenting system is so easy and straightforward on wordpress!

I use Disqus without any problems, but I think it's because it took them awhile to coordinate things with Blogger in terms of importing. I like being able to reply to comments directly from my email. :)

I'll comment no matter what- but the third part systems are imperfect beasts.

Diqsus is really unstable some of the time, but either system means that your comments live inside that system, not on your blog. If you ever leave you have to go through their import system to make sure it doesn't just delete all your comments from however long you've been using it, because when you uninstall it your comment count on everything will be zero.

I like having interactions with other bloggers through comments. I just use the blogger comment set-up and respond to comments within the same comment section as everyone else, but I don't know how well that works because I'm not sure if everyone who commented has subscribed to all the comments. I like the idea of Intense Debate because there is more interaction. Not a fan of Disqus, though.

I struggle with this - coming to Blogger from Wordpress meant I was spoiled with comments before and I don't really enjoy them now.

I tried Disqus for a day and hated it. It also meant that when I uninstalled it, I lost the comments for that day, which made me sad. Obviously.

But it's up to you! People will still take the time to comment when they want to, no matter what you use! =)

I'm with Emily Jane. The word verification on blogger is annoying, so is the sly way they tilt the letters and morph them into numbers.
Do what's easiest for you, though. It's true that we'll comment no matter how you set it.

BTW, did you take that picture of the girl going up the "this is my art" steps?
Too cool.

I've been thinking about taking a day off from work just to go around taking pictures...just, of, well, stuff!

My computer must been taken over by a ghost, because I've tried posting this like four times already!!! Don't you love technology?

I really do use ID too, not disqus, didn't even know it existed! I love the way it organizes the comments! DO ID!
