The time technology decided it no longer hated me

Hooray for working blogs! (Don't forget - if you're reading this in Google Reader, or another RSS type feed, please update your subscription).

Remember when I was talking about making some changes to this blog? Well, owning my domain was the first step. I won't reveal the rest of the changes I'm hoping to implement, but I will say it involves a big blog re-design sometime in the fall. Stay tuned!

In other news, my husband is amazing. Seriously. He was able to recover all the pictures from our corrupted memory card from our trip to Chicago in June! Expect some pictures in upcoming posts but for now I want to leave you with a restaurant recommendation from the brief time we were in the city.
It was kind of a diner - but definitely with a vintage-y contemporary twist. That sounds weird, right? But that's the only way I can think to describe it.
I wanted these mirrors and this chair in my house. (Wouldn't it make a great place to blog from?)
Oh, and the food. *Sigh* I can still taste it. It was that good phenomenal. I had the strawberry and pineapple infused french toast kabobs. We ate at 10 AM, walked around the city all day, and didn't get hungry until after 6 o'clock that night. Mmm.
A big shout out to my cousin who was our fabulous tour guide that day and took us to this place. I would go back in a heartbeat!

How are you at trying new places when you travel? Are you adventurous or do you order things that you're familiar with? If you've visited Chicago, have you ever been here? And since I couldn't post yesterday - tell me about your weekends! Happy Tuesday!

Congrats on owning your own domain! What a big step. I want to do a blog make-over but haven't gotten around to doing it just yet... I need to enlist the help of a professional as I am a moron when it comes to all things technology.

Beign gluten intolerant sort of prohibits me from being very adventurous when it comes to ordering food. There are usually so few things I can eat on a menu... I am the least picky eater, though, so if I wasn't limited by my gluten intolerance, I'd be willing to try pretty much anything!

Oh my goodness, french toast infused kabobs? That sounds incredibly gourmet and yummy! And hooray for your husband being able to save the pictures =) Can't wait to see the rest of them. Also, if you ever go to Chicago again, let me know. I'll make the drive to see you there, k!?

I like to try new things!! We had so many yummy things in Europe and if we hadn't been adventurous when eating out we would have missed out on some great meals!!

geez, french toast kabobs - yum. Can't decide if having them on a stick would have me eating them more quickly, or more slowly? I love eating breakfast out.
Speaking of which, I loved the deli in Georgetown where we all met. What on earth did I have? Oh yeah, oatmeal. Totally a different thing for me, but oh so lovely. As was the company!
Looking forward to more Chicago pictures! Thank goodness for techie husbands (mine just installed Windows 7 here for me!)

I hope your not changing your header--it's so cute! So, I'm a few days behind and didn't realize you bought your own domain...but I'm still getting posts in reader. So, do I need to update subscriptions? Is this because I'm a follower and didn't just subscribe to the posts?
