My weekly ritual

For the past couple of weeks I've started my own little rituals. I love Fridays, so to get them started off the right way, Thursday night means pampering. I give myself a facial and a pedicure - complete with fabulous Lush products, and a new coat of OPI nail polish.

For the third Sunday in a row I've had the urge to bake. The past two weeks have been chocolate chip cookies, but yesterday I decided to try my hand at sugar cookies.
I used to think baking was horrible, but since I've been doing more of it lately I'm becoming more and more used to it. While I still need a recipe (I get stressed when I don't have one), I don't get flustered as easily.
Neither of these rituals were planned, but I've been unconsciously doing them regardless. They're fun and soothing in their own way.

Do you have anything like this you do? Did you create it purposely or did it just evolve over time?

Those look delicious!! And my favorite ritual is reading blogs in the morning while I eat, before the rest of my family wakes up. It never lasts long enough, but it's just about the only 'me' time I get these days!

My only ritual is "Sunday Night Dinners" - which is when I make a big meal so that I will have yummy leftovers to bring to work the next week. I have not been as good about doing this ritual lately, though. It's sort of more of a Fall/Winter ritual, I've learned. Mostly because I am sort of exhausted by Sunday night due to marathon training!

The cookies look awesome! You are becoming quite the Betty crocket!!

I hate baking haha. I have learned that I like the break apart cookies cuz they taste delicious and i cant mess them up! Cooking is more my thing.

I tried really hard to have a Sunday night ritual of a biking picnic dinner. We did it once. Then football season started again.
Lately we've spent Sunday mornings walking to the local patisserie and picking our croissants for breakfast. It's beginning to feel like a ritual!

YUM! Sugar cookies look awesome!

I need to get back into my routine of making BIG batches of food on Sundays that will get me through the week!

Oh yes! I have rituals.
Sunday nights, starting around 8 pm I hole up in my room, put in a chick flick, and relax. Maybe with some reading. Maybe with some blog writing, but no matter what, a whole lot of me time. It's glorious!

I have a stack (literally) of new recipes to try when school is done in 30 days =)

I have so many rituals, it's a little ridiculous. :) My favorite is probably my cheat nights, hehe. And my ritual of having a mini-shopping spree at Target once a month.

If we were neighbors I would definitely come over to share in your rituals. Sunday is my day to sleep in as late as I want, then be completely lazy just watching lifetime movies or chick flicks or reading.

I'm very much the same way about baking, and if you take it slowly you can start making really cool things without even thinking about it! :)

My favourite ritual is watching an episode of Bones or Burn Notice with Jesse when I get home from work. It's just little but I'm so ready to flop and it's nice to relax together :)
