A dapple of my weekend: staycation style

So tomorrow I go back to work after having six days in a row off. *Sigh* Such is life. Want to see what I've been up to? (Warning: this is an image heavy post)

One day I explored a nearby park and marveled at progress. This is a shelter that used to imprison women when they were trying to gain the right to vote.
This was their "cell."
Amazing, how far we've come, isn't it?

Friday brought a fondue night with some fabulous friends, and though at times it was work, it was also delicious! I mean, fondue and cute babies - who doesn't like that combination?
And no fondue night is complete without an injury right? (You know you're jealous of my Lightning McQueen band-aid).
Throw in some yoga (exercise for the first time in over five weeks!), a fabulous video g-chat with Kyla, and a wonderful Gilmore Girls marathon (a tradition a dear friend and I have been doing for awhile), and you have yourself quite a wonderful staycation!
(Those are our feet under the blankets!)

Also during the weekend I was blown away by strength and endurance by a couple of people - I even video blogged about it!

How was your weekend readers? Does anyone else have today off? How are you planning on spending it?

Ruth is my inspiration for this post as I borrow the idea from her. Her "dapple" pictures always blow me away - be sure to check them out

Your weekend sounds great! I love TV shows on DVD marathons of any kind, but especially Gilmore Girls :-)

Looks great! :) TV marathons are the best - I'm trying NOT to give in to the urge to just spend the day in front of the TV (I have such a hard time letting myself do that when there's housework to be done and I have time off!) but there's a set of TNG that has my name on it.. :)

What a fun staycation. Sometimes, those are the best because you really do relax and take time to breathe. On vacations, you can get so busy doing stuff that you never truly relax.

Yay!
