Rattling around in my head

Four day weeks always seem weird to me - they take way longer than it feels like they should, so by the time Friday rolls around I'm always exhausted. That's my way of telling you you're getting some random-ness that's been in my head this week.
My tooth hurts. The one I paid a decent amount of money to get a crown put on. I have a dentist's appointment next week and while I'm going back to a dentist I went to in college and he's awesome and the only dentist I've ever not hated liked, I'm still get worked up about it. I hate dealing with pain in my mouth and because I hate going to the dentist it's been awhile. I'm sure I'll have cavities which means more trips back there. Ugh. Hate hate hate. I might actually prefer getting another cortisone shot rather than go to the dentist. (And we all know how much I loved that).

A co-worker gave me a new bottle of OPI nail polish this week. She ended up buying a color she already had and knew from seeing me that I paint my nails a lot and thought I might like it. Nice, huh? (It's Suzi Says Da!) I'll post pictures when I try it out!

My weekends are booked. This weekend's not crazy, but after that there's at least one big thing (if not more) happening each weekend through mid-December. When I say it like that it sounds crazy and I get a little overwhelmed but then I take a deep breath and drink it in. Fall is my favorite time of year (shocker, right?) and I love being busy because weirdly enough I feel like I enjoy it more that way.

I want to get my ears re-piereced. I've had them pierced three times before. Once when I was younger and don't think I really wanted the responsibility of it, so I just took my starter earrings out. The other two times were when I was older and after awhile I started to have problems with putting new earrings in, even if I was just switching out a pair. It felt like there was something blocking the earring from making it all the way through my ear and after awhile it hurt enough where I just let them close back up. After having my my gallbladder removed, the surgeon told me I was more prone to keloids, and I'm wondering if that's possibly what happened with my ears? I don't even know if that makes sense, but I really want to get my ears re-pierced but don't want to run into the same problems again. The last time I wore earrings was my wedding day - over three years ago. (For the record, I always cleaned my ears and changed out my earrings often. I also didn't wear cheap crappy earrings because I was afraid that would contribute to the issue). Thoughts?

My high this week: talking to various people about little silly things that make me smile. It's fun knowing I can discuss everything from religion and technology issues to traffic and America's Next Top Model with all the wonderful people in my life.

My low: my tooth. It's not constant pain but it's irritating enough to get me all worked up about something that is probably (hopefully!) nothing.

What about you readers? How was your week? Does anyone else think four-day work weeks take forever? Do you like to jam pack your weekends? What's your high/low this week?

It could be fun to get your ears re-pierced, if they don't close up immediately again! Lots of people have sensitivities to metals that are in the posts of studs, if that was the case they might not have fully healed when you were switching them, and that could make it really hard to switch your jewelry. If you do it again, I might look for 'sensitive ear' safe jewelry to use. If it's not that, it would at least eliminate that as a potential problem?

My weekend is going to be jam packed with work, but it's all done from home so it'll still feel like a lazy weekend :)

Oh, I hope ear piercing works out for you! I had to re-pierce mine and had a lot of scar tissue inside from the last holes. To help them heal I actually wore thin stainless steel hoops - somehow a little less irritating than even gold - and left them in for months and months. If you can do hoops - the kind in which the backs slide into the tube of the hoops and lock them on - I think it is less irritating than studs. Studs pres against your skin as you sleep and cause damage similar to bed sores.
Anyway, I love earrings and I hope this works for you! If it does I will make you a pair of earrings to celebrate so keep me updated :)

Ugh - lame sauce about your tooth! I hope they fix it up for you!

My low this week is definitely my stupid foot hurting.

My high is sleeping in until 6:30-7 every morning since I'm not running! That extra hour + of sleep has been blissful!

I had to go the dentist earlier this week and I hated it, so anything related to tooth pain and etc? I feel your pain and I'm so sorry!

I tend to have one thing going on each weekend; the next few are pretty packed with weddings, little mini road trips, and family/friend events. That's ok with me though because before too long it will feel too cold to do anything.

The keloids are very likely to be related to your ears closing up. Having pierced ears is fun, but if you don't want to worry about them closing up again, there are a lot of cute clip on earrings these days.

I'm so excited that I get to be a part of one of your busy weekends! NEXT WEEKEND! WOOHOO!

Wow, you have a busy schedule ahead of you. i know the feeling of being excited for the things you have planned but also a little bit overwhelmed at the same time... I like to have a couple of things planned on the weekend but if I over plan, I just get stressed out!

Hi: Seeing T on Wednesday night. :)
