A simple update

I posted back in August about taking part in Elsie's 4 simple goals project, and seeing as how we're almost halfway through October I thought it'd be a good time to check in! (For a refresher of what this is all about, click here).

1) Spend time outside every day during fall. So far so good, although it's been warmer than usual lately so I'm only doing this on days when it "feels" like fall (i.e. eighty degrees doesn't count)

2) Carve out and enjoy more time with the mister. So far so good! We're continuing to implement "rest time" each day, and as much as we joke about it, it really helps. A lot of times five minutes laying and chatting turns into 20 before we know it. It's really nice to be able to connect with Ben each day this way.

3) Take care of myself by writing and sleeping more.  I kind of forgot about this goal, so I guess not so hot, huh? I've been doing all right with sleep - making myself go to bed, but not consistently so I'm going to re-commit myself to that. As far as writing goes I haven't done a lot lately but I've started taking a different approach to when and how I write my blog posts and I'm loving it.

4) Become more adept in the kitchen. Alllll over this. And loving it! Who knew?!

I am also loving spending time outdoors especially because it feels like autumn here already:)

Love the photo - seeing pics of yarn are so relaxing for me as knitting is such a soothing hobby.

I am hoping to make more time to do things like knit this month.

I also want to carve a pumpkin. I haven't done that in years!

So cool Becky! Carving out husband time is my favorite - hmm, maybe something we should think about! With a new baby I feel like I hardly see Dan. And spending time outside is such a great way to savor fall.

I've set one MAJOR goal for myself, for the year - to write for an hour a day, and blogging doesn't count! So far, I'm doing great, although it hasn't quite been a week yet - haha. But I'm really pumped about it so I'm anticipating keeping it up. I'm even going today to buy a little netbook, so Dan and I aren't sharing a comp anymore.

I love the rest time; I've started doing that now that I'm post graduate school and it's a lovely feeling. I need to more of it. I'm also hoping to get back into baking/the kitchen soon too. And now that I'm done with school I'm revamping/revitalizing my workout goals and plans!

I love your 4 simple goals! Very realistic and healthy. I've found to be so much happier now by spending more time with my husband & myself. It's awesome!!
