The beauty of grace

Nora does an amazing series about finding grace in the small things - and since today I'm thankful for grace, I figured it was only appropriate to take a page out of her book.

Last Tuesday, on Carol's anniversary I talked about not being able to get through a song I was supposed to sing last year at her funeral. That night I had coffee with a friend and she was telling me how her mom always told her to read a specific Psalm from the Bible when she was younger to make her feel safe. She turned to it in the Bible and I only read about five words before I had to stop. The song I couldn't get through a year before? Was based off the Psalm I had just started reading.

My friend and I both teared up (and then immediately told the other one to stop it!), and she apologized for making me sad. It was the opposite though. I felt like I had been given a gentle reminder that loss happens, but so does love. It was an incredible moment.

Has something like that ever happened to you? What things have you found grace in recently? What are you thankful for today?

Oh wow, that is a amazing. Very cool that the verse was what the song you sang was based upon.

I find grace in small things every day and am thankful for Nora's weekly posts which make me stop and think of them! This week, it was walking into my brothers house and hearing my nephew say, "It's Lisa! I like Lisa." Then he told my brother the same thing when he got home from work. It was just one of those really cute moments that made me go, 'awww'.

Such a beautiful sentiment. I love these giving things posts. Lately, I'm finding grace in my family. Despite our disagreements, at the end of the day when someone needs us, we're there, no questions asked.

That is so amazing! What a strange and wonderful thing to happen!

I am definitely trying to find grace in every day life right now. Living, breathing, running. We take it all for granted so much.
