On feeling accomplished

Remember those four simple goals I set?

I totally rocked them. And since it's now December, (and fall has officially come to a close - sad!) I figured a little recap was in order.

Just as a refresher - Elsie came up with this challenge to ease into fall (although technically it can continue into 2011). The point was to choose simple goals (hence the name), that will make your life richer, are not goal-oriented, and then you were to reward yourself with a little something as you accomplish each one. Here are mine:

1) Spend time outside every day during fall. Okay so, I didn't do this every single day but I did it enough where I'm counting it as a success. What I learned: Driving with my sunroof open on a cool fall day always puts me in a good mood.

2) Carve out and enjoy more time with the mister. Ahhh, rest time. In full force and fabulous. What I re-learned: My husband is amazing and I love spending time with him - just the two of us, for a few moments each day.

3) Take care of myself by writing and sleeping more. I'm still working on getting an amazing night's sleep each evening, but oh my gosh has my writing exploded this season! I think in adjectives and hyperboles and I'm constantly jotting things down in the lovely little notebook I ordered from Kyla. What I learned: Sometimes having a pretty something to write in, helps my writing be prettier as well.

4) Become more adept in the kitchen. Sooo all about this. I used to think baking was scary and frustrating. Now it soothes me, and I do it to help me unwind. What I learned: When you try new things sometimes you end up loving them. (I definitely need to remember this!)

Did you set any simple goals for yourself this fall? How did you do with them? (Oh, and more on my "reward" for accomplishing them later).

Happy almost Friday!

I don't think I set any goals this fall, but it's been a great fall for me, nonetheless. I have allowed myself to slack off a bit which means reading and working out less but spending more time w/ the Barrister which has been fabulous. Oh, and I finished a baby blanket I had been working on since September!!

You're awesome for reaching your goals. I don't set them anymore...I have issue with self-expectation and my total inability to meet them. But. There's something so fantastic about meeting goals, isn't there?

So it is maybe a cop out but my goals? Finish grad school and run the 10k, both of which were in October. I told myself after that the rest of the year I could relax. Which maybe is a goal? One that I'm not super great at it, but I'm working on it... =) Way to go you on meeting your goals though. I had no doubt you would!

Internet high five for accomplishing your goals. I'm glad that you're taking more time for yourself, writing more, and enjoying your husband more.

I'm so proud of you for rocking your four simple goals! I'm a little nervous to go back and see them, because I definitely forgot about them over the past month. Eep!
