Hold tight to love

I've been pulled down lately by all the sadness around me. The tragedies. The unfair. The unjust. They've been weighing heavy on my heart.

So for now, I'm holding tight to love.

What do you do when you're feeling like this?

That is a beautiful love poem! When I feel like you are feeling, I tend to sort of hunker down and spend as much time reading, running, relaxing, and reaching out to friends. I am not so great about the whole reaching out to friends things, though. My natural tendency is to push people away and try to 'figure it out on my own' but I know that is not healthy, so I am working on that!

AH, when this happens... I sleep, I exercise, I write, I bake, I hug those I love a little tighter, take Jack for long walks, without music, and just enjoy being, whatever the noise in my head is, and just go with it...

Sending hugs and love from afar!

Hey Becky, if you are interested in listening to a sermon, my pastor just preached this past weekend on lament and conviction. You can find it at www.florisumc.org and download it for your computer or iPod. It was just a really great sermon--I'm pretty sure Tom was talking directly to me. Anyways, just thought I'd share, because it hit me and I sometimes the unjust and unfair around gets to be too much.
Hope you have a good day

I so know what you mean- sometimes when I get stuck in these emotions the best thing for me is to reach out. Contact friends, family, loved ones + do something sweet for someone else. Anything that makes me feel more connected and plugged into the people around me. Hope it helps, lovely <3

Such a beautiful poem! When I'm feeling pulled down by sadness, I cuddle my puppy. I would say I cuddle my son but he's too wiggly these days :D

For me, what helps the most is writing. Writing is my therapy and it helps me to get all the feelings out of my head and heart and onto paper. Talking to others help, as well as just getting away from it all and losing myself in a book.

Hope you're feeling better!
