Napkin rings (and other things I never thought I'd care about)

I might have a problem. Ever since we got our dining room table, I've become a little obsessed with anything to do with food. Having food, planning meals, dinner guests, place mats, the list goes on and on. The other night I turned to the mister and said, "what do you think of...napkin rings?" (He just shook his head).

I've been thinking more and more about breakfast foods, and I'll be reviewing something for CSN Stores soon that specifically has to do with breakfast. CSN Stores have everything from kitchen gear to wood swing sets, and I'm excited about working with them in reviewing my item. I'm not going to reveal what it is yet, but let's just say I'm way more excited about this than I probably should be. (When I told Ben, he nodded his head in agreement).

So...is this a new domestic gene that's just now surfacing? Do you associate "nesting" type feelings with a certain piece of furniture? And anyone have good napkin ring recommendations? (I wish I was kidding about that).

I am not enough of an adult to actually own cloth napkins, so don't have any tips on napkin rings unfortunately! :) Maybe some day when I get my act together and actually use my dining room table as a place to eat food instead of a study area, I will treat myself to some napkins/napkin rings! It is a very nice touch when someone has you over for dinner & uses cloth napkins!

Can't wait to see what you got from CSN - I am going to guess waffle iron!

I do not own napkin rings (yet!) but I do heart Pier One for those types of things. Check them out.

No suggestions on napkin rings. I do own some, but since we've gotten rid of the dinning room table to make room for the kids toys (we really really need a bigger place!) we dont use them anymore :(

But, speaking of things you get excited over that you probably shouldnt...one of my fav Christmas gifts this year was...a toaster....not even a toaster oven, just the toaster, sad I know. (For the record my other fav was my Kindle, much cooler!)

Oh my gosh. Hahahaha. I totally get you! I am laughing so hard inside right now, because I can completely relate. Ever since we decorated our old apartment early last year, my attitude towards buying decoration items has totally changed. I used to see it as unnecessary spending; I would have rather bought a new outfit than a new couch, ya know? But when we redecorated, and I went all out and got curtains and new furniture and a diningroom table etc....something clicked. And now we have a new apartment. We kept most of the same decorations (they being relatively new) but not so with the kitchen. I had a whole vision for the kitchen. This vision revolved around a turquoise teapot which I became obsessed with finding (and I did find one!) but also included placemats, curtains, etc. Yesterday I found the finishing touches at World Market (I highly recommend them! I would look either there or Anthropologie for napkin rings, lol) and I couldn't stop admiring the kitchen. I'd go in there just too look at it. My boyfriend is thoroughly amused and completely baffled at why this is so exciting to me...hahahaha. Oh too funny.

You crack me up in the best way. My mom has some adorable napkin rings that I just love! they are perfect for fall/Thanksgiving as they are bears + moose (separately of course). I do get super excited about domestic things, specifically bedding, table lamps, bathroom stuff and anything kitchen. I'm a bit of a dork when it comes to those things :)

Is it bad if I say I don't know what napkin rings are?? Ya... OK then... hehe!

I love hosting dinner parties though! Can't wait to have MY kitchen table back so I can start doing that again!!
