Wear what you love

Ah, jewelry. I used to think the only kind I should wear would have expensive stones dripping from it. While I have nothing against diamonds, the more I look, the more I realize the effort and skill that goes into a handmade piece of jewelry makes it shine just as brightly as any gemstone imaginable. The Etsy shop tru.che is no exception.

I don't know how I stumbled onto Stevie's shop, but I'm so glad I did. I've been spending my down time trying to decide which of her beautiful pieces I want to order. When I contacted her about doing an interview for my blog she was so friendly and quick to respond - I'm sure you'll find her jewelry as gorgeous as I do!

How did you get started with your Etsy shop? I started back in 2005. I have always liked to make things, so once I found out about Etsy, I just had to be a part of it. Jewelry seemed like the perfect fit for me.

You quit your job to make jewelry full-time - was that a long planned our process or more of a leap of faith movement? A little bit of both actually. I was working full time and trying to take tru.che full time for over 5 years. Orders started to pick up and I took the leap. I am so happy I did, I absolutely love my job.
What inspires you? So many things! A good vintage find, a beautiful photograph, the mountains, thunderstorms, anything haunted, a great live show, decorating my space, tending to a garden, and collaboration with other creative souls.
Do you have a process to creating your pieces? Do you always start a certain way or do you create just as it comes to you? I try and set aside time each week to just create. I write down ideas when they come to me during the week, but a lot of times I just play around 'till something pretty and shiny comes out.

Do you do custom orders? I sure do! I receive requests for custom orders all the time. My most popular request is for custom states and countries.
What's your favorite item in your shop right now? Does this ever change? I really like the Simple Peaks. I'm currently enjoying things that are simple and clean. My favorite items change all the time, depending on my mood and the season.

And just for fun, if you could only eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be? Cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese, nom nom nom.

What do you think readers? Isn't her jewelry gorgeous? I love how unique it all is! (I had a hard time choosing which pictures to feature!) Do you have a love of handmade jewelry as well? Be sure to head over to her shop to see more!

That is beautiful! I never wear jewelry... I just don't make the effort, which is pretty lazy of me!

I like the idea of the custom jewelry - esp if it include the shape of a certain country - I am sure I don't have to tell you which country I'd get! ;)
