The wonder of bread

Happy Tuesday! Ready for another recipe?

Each week I'm going to share a recipe I've found, and my experience in making it. Twelve weeks of summer, a dozen recipes to explore. I've tried new recipes before, but I really want to enjoy the time in the kitchen that it takes for me to create these. Whether they turn out well or not, I want to find joy in baking or cooking.

My mom used to make beer bread and while I remember loving it, I'd never tried making it. There are only three ingredients so not only was it good, but it was simple too!

Beer Bread

3 cups self-rising flour
2 tablespoons sugar
12 ounces of beer

Mix and put in well-greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove from oven. Brush with butter, then bake another 25-30 minutes.

That's all you have to do! It was delicious! I'm always surprised at how much I like it because I'm not a fan of beer at all - but most of it bakes out. (Ben loved it enough to tell me he thinks I should make it every other day!)

Have you ever made beer bread? Let me know if you try this recipe! Have any of you decided to participate in this challenge with me?

Wow, I need to make this! I'm so intimidated by bread-baking, but I've wanted to try. I might have to start with something simple like this. :)

That sounds so yummy. My GF heart aches a bit for a good loaf of bread. GF bread is just not the same. I have had beer bread as tastefully simple has this beer bread mix that a friend made for book club once - it was SO good!

Yes! I've made it from the Tastefully Simple product line but now I feel ripped off knowing how few ingredients were in it!

Wow. How easy is that to make? I might have to give it a try. I bet Knight would love it! I've never made bread before, let alone do I own a bread loaf pan. Something for the registry perhaps... Thanks for sharing this recipe indeed :)

Interesting! What was the texture like?

Um, yes please! I love bread making that doesn't require like, YEAST and complicated stuff. Which kind of limits me to banana bread, UNTIL NOW!
