Wine & Love

Happy Thursday! A few days ago I thought "oh, I should mention that in my wine and love this week." Thanks to Nora and her series for becoming so regular in my life that I feel weird if I don't write one of these posts every couple of weeks!

Things this week that make me want to drink a glass (or bottle!) of wine:

*The Casey Anthony verdict. I'm not going to get into how the defense was sleazy, or the prosecution wasn't thorough enough, but the fact that she is going free? Makes me sick. And no, I don't think the jokes that lump her into the category with OJ Simpson are funny.

*The final Harry Potter movie that comes out today. Twitter has been buzzing all week about it, but instead of being excited about the last movie, I'm kind of dreading it. I don't think it'll be bad (unlike the sixth movie, don't even get me started), but because when it's over, this is really done. It's similar to how I felt about the last book. I bought it, but really took my time reading it. I've connected with these characters for so long I'm not ready to close that chapter (no pun intended!) on my life just yet.

Things I love this week:

*Packing! Okay, to be fair, I haven't packed anything since last weekend, but even though our apartment looks like a total pit right now, the boxes make me grin from ear to ear.

*Nina's letter to her nieces and nephews. It's beautiful and exactly how I feel about being an aunt.

*Summer traffic. My commute is now longer from where I was working before - it went from being 20-30 minutes to a solid 45 minutes, maybe an hour if traffic is bad. However, in the summertime, when everyone takes vacation and there aren't nearly as many people on the road? My commute is glorious. Glorious, I tell you! Yesterday, after it had been storming, I left at a time that normally would take me a good hour and a half to get home and it took me exactly 28 minutes. I was so excited I almost cried.

*Ashley's de-cluttering posts. What she did to her kitchen is amazing, and is inspiring me to purge even more as I pack!

*That my love list is twice as long as my wine list this week. It's this whole moving thing, I'm sure. (Squee!!!)

What's your wine and love today? Happy almost Friday!

Don't forget, the giveaway ends today at noon (EST) so be sure to enter if you haven't yet!

Glad your move is making you so happy :) I also find myself thinking about Wine and Love's in advance haha. I've gotten out of the habit though so I need to work on that.

I agree about Casey Anthony- and I really kinda wish this never became a big media thing. First, I'd rather not know about this and I think the whole thing would've been different if people weren't so against the media. Plus it really makes me a little ill that I work my butt off every day to actually help society, and now Casey Anthony will probably make a billion dollars by being the worst mom ever. I know life isn't fair but this crosses the line a bit!

Wine: The Minnesota government is still shut down. I can't believe our politicians aren't working harder to find a solution and meet in the middle. It's been 2 weeks now and I am so so annoyed (and embarassed of our state). It has not directly impacted me, but there are ~22,000 Minnesotans who are out of a job until they get this solved. So stupid.

Love: It's Bastille Day! SO I have an excuse to gush about France and wear my French-inspired dress! :)

I belong in the camp that is super excited for the midnight showing tonight for HP but sad that its going to be over. I'm taking my teenage cousins so it will be lots of fun.

I'm currently not loving that my car is in the shop getting some work done, I'm afraid to see the bill.

Omg your commute makes me want to cry! I will never complain about my 10 minute commute again :P Hahaha. I used to have a 20 minute commute (the horror!!!) when I lived in FSJ (because I worked at a small town down the highway) and I HATED IT!

Wine: Life in general this week is kind of beating me up a little. Just a chaotic/busy week.

Love: The new harry potter movie!!!! I am SO EXCITED for it. I thought the last one in November was AMAZING. Me and Eric have tickets for the 4:10 showing tomorrow afternoon :)

I feel that way too about the end of Harry Potter - and so did JK herself! I read an interview of her somewhere and she said when she finished the last book she wept and wept. It's like saying goodbye to your best friends, I imagine!
