In which I reveal my love for sonnets

Happy Thursday! You know the deal about wine and love - as always, thanks to lovely Nora for hosting!

Things this week that make me want to drink a glass (or bottle!) of wine:

*My knee. The good news is, after reading the MRI (which by the way - so cool to see), the doctor said there is no structural damage. The bad news is, there's fluid in my knee (why I'm in pain), but the fluid is being caused by massive inflammation and he's not sure why that's happening. I have another appointment Monday where he might suggest some physical therapy - and my goal is to not leave without a plan. (And maybe some pain medicine that actually works).

*Going hand in hand with that, the mister and I have had to have some not fun grownup discussions lately, dealing with my knee. We both have stick shift cars, my left knee is the injured one, and just commuting to and from work every day (much less anything else) kills me. It seems silly to maybe start going to physical therapy when I feel like I'll be un-doing it every time I drive. We hadn't planned on trading in/selling one of our cars until next year, but we're thinking we're going to have to do it (much) sooner rather than later, which we're not prepared for at all. Ugh.

Things I love this week:

*My amazing co-worker who showed me the best way to make coffee at work - it's sweet, it's fast, and the caffeine works like a charm. If I get the okay from her I'll share it, but I'll warn you now, if you're a serious coffee drinker you definitely probably won't like it.

*My current color of the month - still loving it.

*Re-discovering the show The Practice on hulu. I remember watching episodes of it with my parents and loving it - I feel like it was one of the first good lawyer shows that was well done. It's been fun to re-watch seasons, and it's perfect for when I'm icing my knee.

*This picture my brother sent of my niece wearing harry potter glasses. It makes me laugh. A lot.

*Writing emails with my (aforementioned) co-worker in sonnet format all day yesterday. It started with me thanking her for the coffee, and then it actually became about work stuff, which made it even more hilarious. Every time we saw each other in the hallway we burst out laughing.

*How sweet the mister has been lately. He knows I get frustrated depending on people for every little thing, but it's been the case lately with my knee. (The medicine I'm on sometimes makes me dizzy so once I take it I'm pretty much down for awhile). Anytime he leaves for work he makes sure everything I need is within reach, and he's the first one to say "babe, don't overdo it, I can do the dishes." That's love people.

*That I'm getting to know more local bloggers. I have a lunch date soon and a brunch in September and I can't wait!

*That my love list is way longer than my wine list.

What are your wine and love lists today? Be sure to head over to Nora's to link up and see who else is participating!

Happy almost Friday!

Aww, Ben. What a sweetie he is. I love it! I really hope the knee situation gets resolved soon. Nothing worse than pain and then medicine that makes you dizzy!

Also, the glasses picture? Cracks me up. Belle puts hers on upside down every.single.time. Never ceases to make me laugh endlessly! Thanks for joining this week :)

That picture is ADORABLE.

Sorry about your knee, and the car situation. BUT if spending more money now means that you won't have to get a knee replacement (or something of the like) in 20-30 years then it's probably worth it! I really hope they get you into PT and get this knee problem fixed stat!

Aww, that really stinks about your knee and the car. Can you trade it in for something of the same value and it not cost as much? I don't really know what I am talking about because I have only owned two cars in my life and my parents helped with the process each time, but maybe...?

I've been watching Ally McBeal on Netflix! I was only halfway aware of it when it was first on so it's fun getting to 're-watch' it for the first time :)

Hi Becky! Happy almost Friday to you too!

I found you from Nora's linky tool and wanted to say hi because I too am a book-loving, recipe-following, red-headed former English major who lives in Northern Virginia. Haha :)

Your niece is SO CUTE - made my day.

I know the great feeling of having the "love" list longer than the "wine" list - hope that continues for you! And good luck with your knee!

Aw, Ben is really such a good husband. it's so obvious how much he adores you. YOu are one lucky girl! It's good to see that you appreciate it and recognize how blessed you are to have him! :)

Love: Our email exchange this morning. And our potential Winter Rumpess trip to Chi-town this winter.

Wine: ** crickets ** Hmm... I already covere that in my post today and can't think of anything to add!

SO sorry to hear about your knee! I have a bum left knee too - driving a stick shift is absolutely impossible... and I have already had knee surgery once. (I think it is worst now post surgery than it was before) I do get some relief from acupuncture though... I highly recommend that!

I also LOVE LOVE LOVE my little Corolla - I didnt think I was going to LOVE getting into a little car again (after a decade of SUV's) but I absolutely love it AND they are really reasonably priced and rock on gas mileage :)

Happy Thursday!
