What the world needs now, is love, sweet love

I'm not even sure how to start this blog post because I'm so excited everything I want to say might come out all at once and I'm afraid I might word vomit all over you. *Deep breath*

I met Hannah Katy awhile back. (And yes I'm saying met even though I've never seen her in person - although we're hoping to remedy that soon). I was blown away by her writing skills, her energy, and all the hopefulness and beautiful wisdom she was putting out into the blogosphere. When I'd see a new post from her show up in my reader I'd wait for a time where I could sit back and savor it, and really take it all in.

Last October, she started writing love letters to strangers. Letters of encouragement and hope, and leaving them all over New York City. Some she signed, some she didn't, but each one was handwritten and the idea was just to make someone's day a little bit brighter. Then she opened it up on her blog - telling her readers if they needed a love letter sent to them, she would write them one.

400 (handwritten!) letters later, she decided it was time to make this even bigger, so More Love Letters was born.

Hannah's opening it up to the world - you can leave a letter, send a letter, be a writer, or even follow us on twitter!

Yup, that's right. I said us.

I am beyond thrilled to say that yours truly is part of this wonderful team. I really don't know if I can express how excited I am about this. I've been searching for something for awhile to fill that last little part of me that was missing. This blog is my favorite outlet, but these love letters? They fit into a different category and now it's like all the pieces of the puzzle have fallen together for me.

But enough of me talking about it - how about you go check it out yourself? You can read all the back story, you can fall a little bit in love with Hannah's generous heart, and maybe even leave a little love for a favorite blogger of yours. *ahem*

Seriously - if you don't do anything else today, please visit the site. It's wonderful and fabulous, and we're so excited for this next step.

As I said to Hannah during a recent Skype date...

We're not here to change the world. Just to put more love into it.

This sounds SO COOL, Becky. I can't wait to check it out on a break today. I'm saving it to give myself something fun to do later in the day. I'm so happy to see people finding ways to make the world a happier place - and this one sounds like a lot of fun, too.

Wow! What a great idea! Just knowing there are people out there who care so much, they are willing to write letters to strangers with no thought of getting anything in response makes my heart swell with happiness and brings tears to my eyes (in a good way!)!

I am a huge, huge fan of Hannah Katy. She is wonderful and amazing and her writing is ugh, so so good. Every blog post of her astounds me.

I'm signing up this morning to become a letter writer because this is something I think I need in my life!
