I've shown a little bit about how I make our apartment pretty, so today I thought I'd show you a little bit of the functionality. We've become more minimalist, but we still have odds and ends, or groups of things that need a home.
Enter the basket.
I love baskets. They look nice, they can match or not match, and they can hide things that aren't attractive like
I'm also a big fan of going up with your space. These baskets hold bags - extra purses, laptop bags, small bags that are good for traveling - and since we don't use what's in the baskets a lot, they're on the top shelf of our closet. (You can even see a few hangers below the shelf).
Since we're working with a small apartment, we want it to feel as big as possible. Going up with our space (baskets, hanging shelves, etc), does wonders because it gets stuff off the floor and opens up the area.
Do you live in a small apartment or house? Do you find going up with your space helpful? And do you love baskets as much as I do? (The fact that we live close to an Ikea can be a dangerous, dangerous thing).
Happy Tuesday!

My house is a good size, but I have a problem with clutter finding my kitchen counter. We have a lot of counter space, but it's always covered with mail, cookbooks, and just random junk. I definitely think we need baskets for the mail and cookbooks! :)
I think we are basket twins! I one IDENTICAL to the one in your first picture, holding the five million x-box remotes that are apparently necessary for my husband's happiness! I've always used baskets to organize stuff in my classroom, because we're required to at our school, so it kind of spilled over into my house, especially since I had kids. Heaps of crappy plastic toys are WAY cuter if they live in a big picnic basket!
I love baskets too, but Lexi loves to chew on them! She has already ruined one of mine, so we have to keep them up high!
I should totally start using them in my closet, that is a great idea!
I use A LOT of baskets too! They just work so well to hide things and I really like that they don't HAVE to match but they still look good. I will admit some of the baskets in our house are a real hodge-podge mess though!
I have a container/basket for everything...it makes me feel less crazy!
I use baskets in my closet - 1 for bras, 1 for underwear, 1 for socks. Then i have baskets in my closet for bathroom products. One holds travel size things, one holds various medicines. Love baskets for organizing!!
Even I love baskets, sometimes I even uses the baskets during travel, such baskets can store lot of my things including clothes.
nice blog!!!
