"Sometimes we fear that getting rid of certain items is equivalent to getting rid of part of ourselves......We have to remember that our memories, dreams, and ambitions aren't contained in these objects; they're contained in ourselves. We are not what we own; we are what we do, what we think, and who we love."
- Francine Joy from The Joy of Less: A Minimalist Living Guide
I started reading this last night and
do not want to put down.

It's on my list to read this month! I'm glad to know you enjoy it, I hope it helps me change my ways!
Is it bad that the picture makes me want...stuff? Lol.
Love that quote. I really want to embrace the minimalist life. Must add this book to my list!
This is such a good reminder! I'm a wannabe minimalist with packrat tendencies, so getting rid of things is always a challenge for me.
Love that quote! We are definitely trying to be more minimalist. It helps that our new house was so big we didn't have enough stuff to fully fill it up but we could definitely get rid of some stuff too!
I really, really want to read this book! I'm going to download it to my Kindle after finals week is done, it'll be a great book to read as I unpack our new apartment :)
