Friday is for chocolate

We all know the U.S. economy isn't great - it's getting better, but we still have a long way to go. (Don't worry, this post isn't political). So when someone from Ghirardelli recently contacted me about their "Small Indulgences" campaign I was on-board. Their idea behind this campaign is being able to upgrade your life, to indulge even if just for a moment, for not a lot of money. In doing so they're releasing three new lines of chocolate: Sea Salt Escape, Creamy Devotion, and Coconut Rendezvous.

Now you're not so confused as to why I was eager to be a part of this, are you?

You all know I'm about the little moments in life, so I did a test with the chocolate a few nights after I got home from work. I'd sit down, pour myself some wine and have a square of chocolate.

The good news? The chocolate was delicious. The bad news? I never didn't always stop at one square. It was really good! In fact, I was thinking about having a giveaway with a few of the samples they sent me but I ate them all decided against it.

I was methodical in my "testing." I didn't want to mix flavors so I tried one at a time. First up was the Sea Salt Escape. I've only recently started trying chocolate with Sea Salt and even then it was always in dark chocolate - this was in milk chocolate, and I think I like it better! It was sweet but still had that little kick of salt that brought a nice balance and didn't make it too much.

Next up was the Creamy Devotion. While I thought the name of this one was a little weird - it's all milk chocolate and I wouldn't necessary guess that from the name - the taste was wonderful. In fact, I had to break each of these squares in half because it was so rich it was almost too much eating a whole one by itself. Yum!

And last but not least, was the Coconut Rendezvous. I was actually nervous about this kind because I'm a little bit of a snob about coconut. (I went to Hawaii when I was 14 and had fresh coconut there - ever since coming back, having coconut has never been the same). I figured it would be like a lot of other coconut chocolate bars - good except for the coconut.

There are times when I enjoy being wrong, and this was one of those times. Oh my gosh you guys, it was so good! I honestly felt like the coconut was as fresh as what I had in Hawaii - the Coconut Renezvous ended up being my favorite!

Do you ever escape with chocolate? How do you "upgrade" your life in a moment?

Happy Friday!

*Disclaimer: Ghirardelli contacted me about reviewing this chocolate and sent me samples for free. I was not compensated for anything else and all thoughts/opinions are my own. When I say this chocolate is good, I mean it!

Psst - don't forget about my giveaway - it's only open until tomorrow night!

Yum! I'm a big fan of Ghiradelli squares in regular flavors, so I can't wait to try these. The sea salt sounds delicious!

Oh my gosh, that must be tasty! I've been letting myself indulge in dark chocolate lately (I'm eating super carefully as part of a big weight loss kick I'm on, and so far it's working!) and I currently have a dark chocolate + sea salt bar in my house at this very moment. It's so hard to resist! It's the perfect balance of flavours for me :)

I love chocolate TOO MUCH. To the point where I can't keep it in the house or I will EAT IT ALL! Haha.

Seeing Kyla's comment about dark chocolate + sea salt just made me salivate. That is the BEST combo!

I upgrade my Friday each week by buying a latte. I like the idea of small indulgences like this.

I love sea salt caramels, so I bet I would love sea salt + chocolate!!
