So my husband is now 30. And Saturday found us celebrating in a big way.
We have a one-bedroom apartment so we made the party an open house (so people could come and go - we don't have space for everyone all at once), and it was so much fun!
The party included a 124-lb. dog, a 2-year old who danced like a robot, video games, and lots of love and laughter. Ben and I were both exhausted that night but in such a good way.
Want to see a few pictures?
Oh this thing? Just the craft that I almost had a panic attack over, but was actually fun to make. Hello, balloon wreath! (More details coming soon!)
The "wish" station where people could write a wish for Ben's 30th year.
Ah, the life of Dude - it's rough indeed.
We've had friends over before, but never this big of a group in a party setting. It was exciting to be able to invite everyone into our home (one that's not super tiny and seems like a dark basement), and to know after they left they had a great time.
Do you like to throw parties or are you better with small groups? How was your weekend?

That sounds SO awesome Becky! I know how much work you put into planning this and looks like it was totally worth it. Way to go! I love that picture of you and Ben too :)
This looks like so much fun! You both look so happy in that photo! I am glad Ben had a great part - good job on planning it!
I like to entertain, but kind of prefer smaller groups of 8-10? Or my family which is 17... If I had more room, I could handle more people, of course. I like that open house approach as it solves the space issue. Great idea!
It looks like so much fun! And happy birthday to Ben!
Looks like so much fun! I love the wish station. What a good idea!
Oh, how awesome! You and Ben are quickly becoming my favorite couple and I haven't even met Ben yet!
I love the wreath and the wish station - how creative!!!
This looks like an amazing party! I love the balloon wreath, that thing is awesome! An open house is such a good idea if you don't have enough space for everyone at once.
I like to have parties but I get pretty stressed doing them so I don't do them often. I was just thinking I need to have another one soon- I just need an excuse!
What fun! So proud of you for hosting a fun party AND getting crafty with that great wreath. happy belated birthday to Ben!
