No law about it

There are a couple of people I don't talk about very much on here, and today I'd like to change that.

We've all seen movies, or heard horror stories about in-laws, and I am so incredibly grateful I will never have that problem. So please indulge me for just a moment, because I've been feeling sentimental lately - and I want to let you know just how fabulous they are.

The first word that comes to mind when I think of my mother-in-law is grace. The second is patience, followed quickly by laughter. She is the epitome of strength, and light, and she has a knack for learning what you like and talking to you about it. She is a source of comfort, and a wealth of information. She's taught me how to make rolls from scratch, how to be okay with not always keeping a schedule, and is always willing to help, no questions asked.

If my mother-in-law is grace, my father-in-law is compassion.  (See how they go hand in hand?) His heart is so big and full of love for everyone I sometimes wonder how it stays in his chest. Generous is not an accurate word to describe him, but it's the best I can do - he is generous with his time, advice, and love. He manages to see the best in everyone no matter what, and I have yet to come across something (cars, appliances, an attitude), he can't fix.

Individually they are wonderful, but together? Well together they're simply unstoppable.

Together they raised three children. They fixed cuts, taught lessons, laughed, cried, and I'm sure at times got frustrated.

But they did it together.

Together, they are an amazing team.

Together, they created the man that changed my world.

I don't have enough words to say thank you. So I'll just say I love you instead.

Love this! They sound wonderful, and I think all the negative hype about in-laws just makes those of us with wonderful in-laws feel all the more appreciative of them.

Aw, that is so sweet! You are so blessed to have amazing in-laws! I have sisters- and brothers-in-law, and I love them like they are my sisters and brothers. So I totally understand your feelings for your mother- & father-in-law. They sound like wonderful people! I mean, they had to be if they raised Ben, right? :)

Aw what a sweet post! I like my in-laws well enough. They are nice people and treat me good. I'm not super close with them or anything but I don't have any *horror* stories either :)
