A very NIFT-y weekend

Last weekend I visited Megan. She recently moved somewhere quite...colonial, so I made a quick trip (down Saturday, back Sunday), and we had such a fabulous time! I decided to make it a NIFTshirts weekend, so Saturday I wore this shirt (I got two compliments on it!), and on Sunday wore a new shirt that Ryan (the creative owner of the shop) was trying out. The Sunday shirt is bright and bold and I love it!

Okay, so I could tell you...but how about I just show you?

We started the morning with breakfast at Astronomical Pancakes...yes that was really the name, and yes the pancakes lived up to it!
(Later we checked out this place...which also totally lived up to its name - so good!)

We saw some beautiful scenery...

Got a tad bit confused...

...and were sad about it.

(This is the new shirt - fun isn't it?)

We explored her new town and tried out a few places she hadn't been yet. It was fun for me as a visitor and helpful for her to familiarize herself a bit more with where she would be.

(And really...who doesn't want to live somewhere where Fat Canary and The Cheese Shop are next-door neighbors?)

I think it's really brave to move to a totally new place on your own - and even though Meg hadn't been there for long, she definitely acted as a tour guide at times.

Have you ever moved somewhere totally new? Did you like having visitors, or are you a more find-it-on-your-own type of person? Don't you love the yellow and pink color combo of that shirt? What are you up to this weekend?

Happy Friday!

Oh my gosh, that city looks SO charming! So cool! I am glad you guys got some quality time together this weekend.

I LOVE having visitors. It's so fun for me to show my city to others. It makes me research and explore more than I would otherwise! And I love having others show me your city - like you did! :)

That shirt is awesome. :)

Yes. We moved from Michigan to the D.C. area with a nine-month-old. The rest you know!

Oh you just made me drool on my keyboard!! Haha!

I've never lived anywhere except Amarillo, TX. And I find this to be very sad. We want to move sometime in the near future. Start a new adventure. I think it's a great opportunity to get to know yourself better, and your partner if you have one. It still seems very intimidating, though. I agree, it takes a lot of courage and I admire anyone who can do that.

Looks so fun! I LOVE girls weekends but have not had one in way too long. I used to have girls weekends all the time in college too! Makes me feel sad it's been a good 6 months since I spent an entire weekend with a girlfriend or girlfriends!
