Last week I decided my intention for May was to be kinder to myself.
I would say this weekend was a smashing success.
Friday night brought relaxation after a crazy work week, and some heart-warming mail from Meg.
Saturday was a morning date with Ben to see The Avengers.
We didn't realize the tickets we bought were for the 3D version, and I was a little apprehensive about motion sickness, but it was fine and the movie was awesome.
Throw in a fabulous book club, some nail polish, lots of reading, and I couldn't think of a happier way to spend my Saturday.
Sunday brought time spent with some fabulous friends - snuggling babies, laughing, and some amazing food. (Including bananas foster for dessert - Jess claimed it was easy. After one bite I told her forget Ben, I wanted to have babies with her!)
I also realized I didn't turn on a computer from the time I left work Friday until late last night. I didn't plan to "unplug," but oh, was it fabulous - and just the kindness I needed.
How were you kind to yourself this weekend?

I am glad you had a wonderful weekend! It was great catching up with you last night! :)
I was kind to myself by taking Sunday off from studying. I needed this trip as I had a really bad day of studying on Friday night. I had this sense of dread that would not go away - until I got to my parents' lake place on Saturday. Then - poof - my focus was turned towards my parents and nephews.
We had a great time too. Chris talked about Ben for an hour after, as he always does. I asked him if I should have left him and Ben alone for awhile. Haha!
You got to see Jess??? Man, I wish I could have been there =) Sounds like a lovely weekend indeed. Here's hoping this week is as kind to you as the weekend was. Unplugging is always fun!
Glad you had a great weekend and you were kind to yourself! I really don't like 3D movies but Eric loves them!
I get nervous about motion sickness in 3d too but I am usually okay as long as they don't decide to take us on a helicopter ride or something (which they do at the Omni Theater in Boston haha). Love the nailpolish! I was kind to myself this week by doing a triathlon and spending the rest of the weekend relaxing, doing some family history research :)
