December is for getting cozy

It's been a little while since I've done one of these posts, but the idea is to share something to eat, something I've read and want to recommend, and something I am craving, want really need.

Eat It: Peppermint Hot Chocolate from Starbucks - it's not healthy, it does not have caffeine, but oh my gosh it's so delicious! I can't get enough of it!
Read It: The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs - This book was fabulous! Full review to come soon but I gave it five stars on Goodreads - and you will enjoy it even if you don't knit. I'll leave you with a sample of the writing (from the first page no less):

the gathering
Choosing your wool is dizzying with potential: The waves of colors and textures tempt with visions of a sweater or cap (and all the accompanying compliments you hope to receive) but don't reveal the hard work required to get there. Patience and attention to detail make all the difference. Also willingness. Challenge keeps it interesting, but don't select a pattern that is so far beyond you. Always select the best yarn you can afford. And use the type of needle that feels best in your hand...Even now, it still seems unbelievable to me that by pulling together a motley collection - the soft yarn, the sharp needles, the scripted pattern, the smoothing hook, the intangibles of creativity, humanity, and imagination - you can create something that will hold a piece of your soul. But you can.

Need It: This Naughty or Nice soap from BeSum Natural Scents. Wouldn't this be a hilarious stocking stuffer?

Are you a hot chocolate addict? Have you read anything by Kate Jacobs? Are you as much of a fan of silly stocking stuffers as I am?

Anything you want to share today - something to eat, read, or need?

(Don't forget - it's day three of the 12 Days of Letter Writing - head over and read today's request!)

I haven't been to SBucks in ages (on purpose, it's hard for me to stop once I start) but I LOVE their peppermint hot chocolate and of course the salted caramel hot chocolate, too!

I'm deep in love with peppermint mochas this season! I have to hold myself to just one a week, because I know they are the opposite of healthy but they are SO yummy!

Starbucks peppermint hot chocolate is one of my favorite things about this season. Yes, I know that Sbucks has them all year wrong, but somehow they just taste better between Thanksgiving and New Years.

I read the Friday Night Knitting Club a few years ago and liked it- for some reason I can distinctly remember reading it in my old apartment, which is strange since I read so many books I normally would not remember where I was when I read it :)

I love the coal!

I neeed a good book to read! I was on a reading roll earlier this fall but I've been in a rut the last several weeks. So I guess that's kind of a need it and read it? haha

I have read all of Kate Jacobs books and loved them! That is what got me to learn to knit, actually!

My eat it is the lentil enchiladas that I made for Phil and I. They were so good and he said it's the best meal I've made yet (shocked me that he picked a meal with lentils out of the options I gave him). My read it is crickets right now, honestly. I have lost my reading mojo lately as I have not been reading the best books lately. I need to get back on track! My need it is a new anthropologie candle. The one I had burned out on Tuesday night. I am debating if I should wait and see if I get one for Christmas or just buy one for myself...

I have not read any of Kate Jacobs' books, but I'm pretty sure I have one somewhere on my crazy packed bookshelves!

I've never considered getting hot chocolate at Starbucks. I will have to take your word for it and try it soon! :)
