I hope I never understand

Bombs. Explosions. Panic.

I read stories of people not knowing where their loved ones are and if they are okay.

I read reports of people running into the explosions to help, and see photos of first responders carrying people from the finish line.

I read tweets about runners finishing the 26.2 mile marathon and then running on to the hospital to give blood for the victims.

I don't understand why things like this happen.

I don't understand why anyone would deliberately try to hurt someone else.

I don't understand the desire to destroy lives.

I hope I never understand those feelings.

"Life is so often unfair and painful and love is hard to find and you have to take it whenever and wherever you can get it, no matter how brief it is or how it ends."

My heart is with you Boston.

This tragedy hit particularly close to home for me being a runner/marathoner. I just can't believe it happened. I think out of all sporting events, marathons are probably the one sporting event that has nothing but positive energy. I just hate that we live in a world where things like this could happen. My prayers are with Boston as well.

I'm with you 100% on everything you wrote. I don't understand or get it, either.

I don't think that any of us can understand it, but we can keep acting from love in the face of frightening and confusing events. More love letters is the perfect example of how you're making the world a better place. Maybe you ladies could do a Boston edition.

Sending you lots of love xo

Ditto what Lisa said. It's hit really close to home for me too. I know that bombings like this happen all over the world every day so I struggle a little with how much this one hit me vs. other ones that happen, but this one just feels really close to my heart. So awful. I am inspired by the helpers though.

Thank you for writing this. I feel like I just don't have the energy to write. It's just too much.
