Missing

The quiet is the hardest. Early mornings, late evenings, time alone in the car.

I feel like something is missing. I feel like I lost something, even though when you think about it logically I never had it to begin with.

I've been listening to this song a lot. (To Whom It May Concern by The Civil Wars)

Sometimes it makes me feel hopeful, sometimes it makes me cry, but all the time it rings true.

Why are you so far from me?
In my arms is where you are to be
How long will you make me wait?
I don't know how much more I can take
I missed you, but I haven't met you
Oh but I want to
How I do

Slowly counting down the days
Till I finally know your name
The way your hand feels round my waist
The way you laugh, the way your kisses taste
I missed you but I haven't met you
Oh but I want to
How I do
How I do

I've missed you but I haven't met you
Oh how I miss you but I haven't met you
Oh but I want to
Oh how I want to

Dear whoever you might be
I'm still waiting patiently

I think it's only natural to feel at a loss. To be hopeful and confident in a process means you so very badly want the full experience. Don't undermine your feelings of loss - they are very real. Hugs.

I really wish there was something I could say or do to take some of this hurt away from you. I am glad you are finding some solace in songs that put words to the emotions you are feeling, though. I agree with Nilsa - don't rush yourself through this feeling of loss. It's only natural to grieve and be sad/angry/confused. I am thinking of you and praying for you.

Say it. You know you want to.
