The in between

*Dusts off blog*

Why yes, I am alive! I could give you all these excuses about why I haven't been blogging, but ehh, I just haven't; August is kind of my blah month. I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things here soon, but in the meantime, let's have some tidbits, shall we?

*First and foremost: Do I still love our house more than any other place we've lived? Yup. Even when I do forget things on a different level and run up and down the stairs three times in a row. (Because hello - stairs!) We are just about settled with the exception of a couple random boxes here and there, and have even added a few new pieces to our home, including this sideboard which I am OBSESSED with.
I call her the Grey Lady.
*I've been reading the crap out of some romance novels, and there's a series that takes place in and around a veterinary clinic and omg, I need all the animals. All of them. Like now. Puppy fever is a real thing.

*I found this post called Bad Math and it is by far the best thing I've read about miscarriage. Go read it now. Seriously.

*August is my blah month. Everyone's all, "soak up the end of summer," and I'm like "screw you August, autumn is coming!" Why yes, I have already had a Pumpkin Spice Latte. I regret nothing.
*Speaking of fall, Kelly shared this video with me and I couldn't stop laughing! I couldn't embed the actual video here, but trust me you want to watch it. #DontFallforFall

*And last, but certainly not least, I am Co-Chairing Resolve's 2015 D.C. Walk of Hope! I am thrilled to be working with Resolve and Julie (the fabulous chair for the past few years) in this way - much more to come!

What's been going on in your world this month?

Hahaha, oh you and your love for fall. August is also a blah month for me because I start total freak out mode about the school year. I just hate the unknowns that come with a new class. But I'd still take August over oh say... March? haha. I do like fall too, but just not teaching kindergarten kids how to function in a classroom and not the fact that it leads to winter. So... basically I just love fall weather and food.

Ha, I always think of you when I think of fall because I know it's your jam! Even though I adore PSLs, I can't bring myself to get one until after fall starts - or at least mid-September! I'm still in summer mode right now but I am looking forward to a shift in seasons. Except I dread the shorter days and the fact that winter comes next...

August was a whirlwind for me. I saw family, celebrated Phil's birthday, ran a lot and continued to see friends I haven't seen since I moved back.

Love that you have a name for the sideboard. that's awesome.

I am enjoying summer and yet at the same time I feel like I'm waiting for something...don't know what that is exactly. Hard to explain I guess.

August has been a period of readjustment (again) since the girls are at their fall/winter/spring home for the rest of the year so Knight and I have been working on settling back into us, working out, doing what we usually do. We have had some fun nights with friends, good grilling, and I got to see my brother so that was a huge win!

As I texted you, I love that gray cabinet. It is so cute, Target wins all. Also, that Bad Math article is perfect. I even think about the math with the IUIs that didn't work and the plans that fell through. It's such a poignant piece and thank you for sharing.

Also, Fall. I'm ready for it. It's 98 degrees today and I am melting. Sweet mercy.

I love the grey lady. August is my blah month too. I'm in a funk as shown by the lack of posting on my own blog.

I love your sideboard! It's so cute!

My blah month is usually February. It's usually just one of those months I just try to get through. I'm tired of the cold weather, I usually don't take a vacation until late April or May which always feels soooo far away, and there's not much to look forward to! I like August because it's that one last summery month before fall starts so I get to enjoy my heat (though 117-degree heat indexes are NOT very enjoyable!) and anticipate fall and football and the upcoming holiday season! Bring on September!

I am obsessed with your side board too! Where did you get her? (yes her, not it)

Normally I'm ready for September/Fall to start but I've had such an amazing summer I'm not quite ready for it to end!

Glad to see you're hanging in there and letting the August blahs out in order to welcome fall. In August, I saw some highs (Cape Cod!), some lows (daycare woes) and some WTFs (pitch black, middle-of-the-night camper canopy crash down during a torrential rain storm). September is full of hope for me ... some new beginnings, a visit from my mom and reunions with friends. October will be insane with birthdays and celebrations. So, yeah, lots to look forward to!

I was married at 32 and immediately tried to get pregnant. When I was unable to conceive I had blood tests for fertility and was told that I had an FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) of 54 and would not be able to have children. Even though the doctors knew that I had been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis since age 25, no one bothered to check my thyroid levels. my TSH was measured at .001. My Synthroid dosage was lowered. a friend advise me to contact a spiritualist who help with fertility with his medicine, i collected his contact and explain my situation to him he prepared for me a herbal medicine which i took as describe by him. became pregnant very quickly, I had a successful pregnancy. I have my baby august 2017. to get pregnant at age 35 with my 2nd child in september 2019, thank you sir , this is his email contact if you require his help or Facebook at priest.babaka
